The National Institute of Health (NIH) has said that the Human Metapenovirus (HMPV). Similar to the Corona spreading in China, is already present in Pakistan. The government of Pakistan is keeping a close watch on the fast spreading A New virus in China.
A statement issued by the Islamabad-based National Institute of Health said that the human metapenovirus has been present in Pakistan for the last two decades. The virus was first recorded in Pakistan in 2001.
According to the NIH, 21 cases of HMPV were reported at Islamabad’s PIMS Hospital in 2015.
National Health Agency said that the government of Pakistan is closely monitoring the rapid spread of the virus in China. In this regard,A meeting of the NCOC has been called for Tuesday to review the situation.
The NIH said in a statement that the World Health Organization (WHO) has not yet issued any advisory regarding the human metapenovirus.
